GAME OVER THE GURU, LEVEL ONE: UNPLUG THE BIG BOSS
I AM NOT A GAMER, but I’d apply myself if a game ended with this screen shot. I would in fact become an expert at that game and brag about it—especially on Sunday morning during church traffic.
I’d invite my friends over to play, and would remind them that if I can beat the big boss at his own game, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t. And they’d look at me funny, because they’d be up to a good challenge, though they’d know that when it comes to gaming, I’m not a challenger at all. I suck!
The game at which I don’t suck, a game that will never be over, a game I’ve dedicated my whole life to, could be entitled ‘Ditch the Guru’, ‘God the last breath’ or ‘Freewiller in Makebelieve City’
Yep, I know how to beat the Big Boss at his own game. It’s quite simple, in fact. Are you ready for the best cheat available? You must be ready, otherwise this won’t make any sense. So if you are ready, here is the best way to beat the game:
Don’t play it. Don’t be a gamer. Ignore the game of religion and you will see that you never should’ve played it in the first place. Best thing is that the moment you unplug god out your life you realize that you’ve been godfree all along. That odd silence was freedom. Freedom to be yourself. A gift any reasonable deity would’ve given you in the first place. A gift your mother gives you as a birth right. She spawns you into the game of life with maximum freedom credits.
You will hear me say this often, because there are no deeper reality, but it is a fact that we are all (born) godfree!
I am godfree and you are godfree. Even the believers are godfree, but they’ve been taught otherwise. They are not gurufree.
So, Are you gurufree? That’s the real question and the essential difference between those who enjoy Free Will, comme moi, and those who accept mental slavery—you know who they are.
If it’s Free Will that you are seeking, if you loathe mental slavery, if god-speak, god-threat, god-abuse overwhelm you, ditch the guru. The game is over, if and only if, you ditch the guru.
Know that his delusion of grandeur is not in your best interest. Indeed, unlike what he claims, the bearded skygod isn’t scrutinizing your every moves, he never has.
The bearded skygod doesn’t listen to you, he never will.
The bearded skygod has never responded to you, and he won’t ever.
The bearded skygod did not create a universe with 100 billions stars and turn around to hack baby boys penises.
The bearded skygod did not order the slaughter over 31 million women, children, and men, as it is told in the Old Testament.
The bearded skygod is a painting on a wall, and will always be. It is the uber-representation of a metaphoric obsession. The bearded skygod was designed to find an escape route out feardom.
But instead, the man of the robe in your life has been feeding you anxieties, adding your fear to his delusions, using the skygod, his puppet, as a tool of deception, manipulation, illusion. What you’ve had to listen to and be told to hope for, came through the well-trained vocal organs of the tale-telling guru.
Your life is not a game and a compassionate, reasonable, and humane person would never willingly cause you anxiety or fear. You shouldn’t be a pawn to these propheteers. So, I suggest you listen to him one last time and ask if he’s really talking to you, advocating for you, giving you the keys to your own life. Is he truly there for you or do you feel that his sermoning is designed to seem that way?
Let me answer that question for you: he is not. Why? Because you and only you can advocate for yourself, you and only you know what’s the key to your life, your fears, your anxieties. Because he is far remote from your true support group, from those who love you most, those you advocate for your life and wouldn’t cause you undue stress.
Let’s face it, the guru is a stranger you see one hour a week, far far away, behind the pulpit. A stranger in your life, really! He is not part of you; he isn’t intimate with the game of your life. Being a fan of his doesn’t make him any closer. For instance, I’m a fan of Christopher Hitchens, but as much as his thinking informs my thinking, he is jack shit in the game of my life. Also, I hold no significance in his life, although he is aware, as I am aware, that there are good people like us all over the world.
I repeat, you should not be game when(ever) the guru is in charge. Take charge, grab the controller, play the Free Will game, beginning at level one, the most important level, the one when you get a chance to game over the only big boss: the guru.
Yep, the guru is the surprise big boss. The priest, the rabbi, the imam, the shaman, the shame-man, the make-believer, Deepak Chopra, Harold Camping are the real obstacles to your Free Will.
So, take a vacation from these propheteers, for a breath of revitalization, and you will soon realize that their abusive ways are a diservice to you and, by extention, to your community, your world, and the whole of Humanity.
No one should ever put you through mental slavery, no one! But that’s what they do for a tax-free living. One word at a time, one deceit at the time, one con at a time, the guru robs you of your Free Will. You are the only true gamer in your life. So, surround yourself with players who truly care to play for you.
I hate gurus. I’m not one, I don’t want to be one, but, for sake of vanity, of which I wouldn’t mine dying instead of a painful cancer, you can still follow me (@scriptotheism) or read my more serious pieces about nurturing, re-creating, and fostering a world of freethinkers. (www.religionNerd.com)

Once you are ready to ditch the guru/game them over, the road isn’t easy, because theists are not kind with atheists. In fact, they will turn psychotheist on you. But, here’s a much more serious piece about decommiting from religion: http://savingsmostwanted.com/2011/04/scriptopedia-project-freethinking-selftherapy/
